Well, I failed yesterday. I slept for six hours when I went to sleep for my 7:10 nap. Today however, I managed to wake up. So I’m at the 19 hour mark, and man, I’m pathetic. I’m one of those people who can sleep for 18 hours a day and never get tired of it, so this is a very radical change. I’ve lost a tiny bit of motor skills, and I’ve become very grumpy. Silly minor annoyances are angering me very greatly. I also think I may have a child’s mind when I’m tired.
First Nap

I only managed four or five minutes of sleep, nothing substantial. Off to a good start though. Or at least, as good a start as one could hope for. I haven’t told my roommate that I’m doing this, so I’m interested in seeing his reaction when he finds out. I am also a bit worried that my alarm may wake him in the middle of the night.
Considering investing in one of the alarm clocks that vibrates the bed, or pillow, instead of the tradition alarm clock.
Idea behind it

The idea behind having this blog is that it will give me something to do. For a few minutes between every nap, I won’t have to think about what I’m doing. I’ll just know “Hey, I’ve got to go write something.”
Also, I believe it will help add definition to the changing of days. I have read that people lose track of their days when first converting to polyphasic sleep patterns, and I think this may help.
Beggining of the Uberman Sleep Schedule
Posted in Uberman Sleep Schedule with tags insomnia, nap, polyphasic, schedule, sleep, uber, uberman, ubermensch on September 5, 2008 by istoroI have begun my second attempt at integrating the Uberman Sleep Schedule into my life. The first failed miserably, and due to social restrictions I could not pursue it further. Now however, I have more freedom and am attempting it again.
According to the Uberman schedule, naps are every four hours and last from 15 to 30 minutes. Mine will be 20 minute naps, leaving me with a total of two hours sleep per day.
My nap times:
3:10 am/pm
7:10 am/pm
11:10 am/pm
